Who We Are Serving

When Elijah heard this.. (Jezebel’s vow to kill him), he was afraid. So he ran away to save his life……… and walked for a whole day into the desert. Then he sat down under a bush and asked to die. He said, “I have had enough, LORD! Take my life. I am no better than my ancestors.”…………

……..…Then the LORD said to him, “Elijah, why are you here?”…… Elijah answered, “LORD God All-Powerful, I have always served you the best I can, but the Israelites have broken their agreement with you. They destroyed your altars and killed your prophets. I am the only prophet left alive, and now they are trying to kill me!”

………..Then the LORD said to Elijah, “Go, stand in front of me on the mountain. I, the LORD, will pass by you.”………Then (God) said to him, “Elijah, why are you here? (1 Kings 19:3-14)

Why are you here? ….What a powerful question for God to ask…Why are you here??

It was not the question so much as the point that God was making. In other words, what God was saying is, “Don’t you know who I am?”…Have you not tested Me, and seen My Power?…..Have I ever forsaken you?…….Am I not the One Who has brought you thus far!…..Yes, I am the One Whom no man can gaze upon and live!….. I created everything out of nothing….simply by speaking!…….and yet you doubt Me!……

Too often we are like Elijah……when everything is going well, we can stand straight and strong for the Lord. But, as soon as a little trial comes along, we easily forget who we are serving. We too easily run away from adversity, crying to the Lord….telling Him we just can’t make it. When in reality, all we need to do is remember…….remember God’s Grace and Mercy in times past…..remember how He stills covers you even now……and remember that HE is a God who’s promises are unbreakable, and as abiding as He is God.

I truly enjoyed your play No More Masks! I’m thanking God for the experience to watch it, may He richly bless you & the entire cast and crew. It’s amazing how Mr. Jermaine Turner’s ministry continues to help save, encourage, & inspire even beyond his passing. I’m sure his parents are very proud. Isaiah 55:11 KJV So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
